A captivating antique portrait painting dating to the 19th century (1800s), depicting a young boy dressed in a blue coat with a white collar. The portrait is presented in its remarkable original gold-gilded carved wooden frame, richly decorated with scrolling foliage, beaded borders, floral details, and a beautifully sculpted cherub crest.
The luminous gold gilding has developed a wonderful aged patina over the centuries highlighting the craftsmanship and elegance of the frame.
The combination of the atmospheric portrait and the ornate gilded surround creates a striking decorative piece full of history and character.
The painting has traces of use which is normal considering its age. The frame has cracks, imperfections and repairs overall.
