A genuine example of a sought-after 1930s French desk lamp, offered in original condition with a beautiful untouched surface and excellent proportions. This scarce desk lamp dating to the 1930s, is made of solid brass with an outstanding naturally developed verdigris patina and polished brass highlights. A superb example of French lighting with clean Art Deco lines and the quality of manufacture associated with the period. All of its component parts are beautifully made - such as the solid brass threaded finial.
The brass displays an exceptional, even verdigris patina with age-related marks and wear. This weighty lamp has been sympathetically cleaned and lightly polished, preserving the original oxidised finish and rich surface patination acquired over nearly a century.
Professionally rewired with period-correct antique brown twisted flex and fitted with a new black plug.
