Gustave Tiffoche was a French painter, potter, and sculptor (July 23, 1930, Saint-Nazaire – July 25, 2011, Guérande).
Gustave Tiffoche settled in Guérande (Loire-Atlantique department) in 1961. Over the years, he developed various techniques in the fields of pottery and the production of glazed stoneware.
His production focused on tableware and interior decorative elements such as lighting fixtures, vases, and platters.
Throughout his decades as a potter, Gustave Tiffoche participated in, or was invited to participate in, all the major pottery exhibitions throughout France. He also had exhibitions around the world, including in Stuttgart, Montreal, Munich, Faenza, and Dakar.
Gustave Tiffoche's pottery mark is the monogram "gt" surrounded by a circle. This signature seal, an engraved stamp, is always found on the base of each piece, near the rim. Unique items are sometimes also signed with the full name.
On a mug, the seal is not visible, but it can be identified by its shape and color. This piece has an attribution mark,
