A richly atmospheric antique strawberry still life, painted in oil on academy board and signed and dated 1892. A tipped wooden berry basket spills ripe strawberries across a dark ground, rendered in deep crimson, burgundy, green, and warm golden tones. The dramatic palette and softly illuminated fruit give the composition wonderful late-19th-century character.
The verso retains a partial F. Weber & Co. Academy Board label. Presented in an ornate pierced gilt frame with scrolling foliate and floral detailing, beautifully complementing the painting’s period character.
The framed piece measures approximately 15” x 13” and is ready to hang. Antique condition with expected age-related wear to the painting and frame. Please review all photographs for details.
