A Chinoiserie wall sconce composed of a suspended Republic-era porcelain bowl, hanging from a vintage wood form — a sculptural light installation that brings a quiet, contemplative presence to an entryway, hallway, or bedside. The deliberate juxtaposition of eras creates a luminous, one-of-a-kind focal point.
The porcelain bowl dates to the 1920s–1940s, its original blue-and-white glaze bearing a century of patina. The wood base is crafted from a 1987 vintage chair back, carrying its own history into a new form. Suspended by hand-wrapped hemp rope, the piece is a deliberate collision of three eras — past, present, and the moment between.
When lit, the warm glow travels across the patinated wood and porcelain, illuminating the marks of time rather than concealing them. The piece is wired for US standard outlets and includes an energy-efficient LED module. Ready to hang.
One-of-a-kind original.

A wooden board from 1987 and a blue-and-white porcelain bowl from approximately 1920-1940s—these old objects elegantly display the marks of time—combine with modern, adjustable rods to form a meaningful, functional sculptural art piece, a collision of three eras, a collision of the new and the old. The handcrafted work has imperfections; the board and bowl also bear the marks of their age.
