Suspended Moment is a wall sculpture where three eras converge. A 1987 chair back—its surface worn smooth by decades of use—is reshaped into a wave. From it hangs a Republic-era porcelain bowl (1920s–1940s), its body bearing the fine crack lines and faint fritting that only time can bestow. Modern metal fittings, hand-wrapped in hemp rope, suspend the piece—a deliberate juxtaposition of old and new.
We do not repair what time has broken. The cracks in the porcelain, the scratches on the wood—they remain visible, honored rather than concealed. When the LED light within the bowl is lit, its warm glow travels across the patinated surface, catching every mark of age. It does not hide what time has written. It illuminates it.
This piece is not about erasing history. It is an invitation to sit with fragments of three different eras, suspended together in a single moment—where what was once separate finds a quiet coexistence.

A wooden board from 1987 and a blue-and-white porcelain bowl from approximately 1920-1940s—these old objects elegantly display the marks of time—combine with modern, adjustable rods to form a meaningful, functional sculptural art piece, a collision of three eras, a collision of the new and the old. The handcrafted work has imperfections; the board and bowl also bear the marks of their age.
