The Plowman's Lantern is a material poem about labor and rest. The main body is a reclaimed ox yoke that bore the weight of agrarian life for approximately half a century. An even older hand-forged iron nail—dating back some 70 years—reassembles it as the core component, metaphorically "pinning down" a fading piece of agricultural memory.
The yoke carries the grooves and wear of decades in the field—scars not of damage, but of devotion. The iron nail, pitted with age, holds it together not despite its rust, but because of it. When light glows through the vintage rattan shade, its warm and soft rays offer a soothing rest for the toils of the past.
This lamp is an ode to ordinary labor—a reminder that true peace stems from a profound understanding and respect for the work itself. We do not erase what time has written. We illuminate it, inviting you to sit with the quiet dignity of rest.

The yoke from 50 years ago and the hand-forged iron components from 70 years ago elegantly display the marks of time, a meaningful part of the design. However, the yoke has flaws at the joints, and the bottom of the piece was damaged during design and production; these were repaired using antique parts.
