A wonderfully sculptural vintage hand-carved teak bench from Indonesia, featuring an extraordinary backrest with opposing peacocks (or stylized phoenix birds) surrounding a richly carved central medallion. The intricate relief carving is filled with traditional geometric and floral motifs, retaining remnants of its original hand-painted polychrome decoration beneath a beautifully weathered gray finish.
