A provençal landscape in colored pencils on paper, attributed to henri-edmond cross (1856–1910), a major figure of french neo-impressionism.
this delicate composition presents a rolling provençal landscape, rendered in a subtle palette of greens, blues, and ochres, characteristic of the artist's plein air studies.
the work is preserved in its original frame and bears an old label on the reverse, which reads:
* “cross, h. Edmond”
* “landscape of provence”
* “colored pencils”
* “gallery of mademoiselle caillac”
* inventory number 72.
an old handwritten note is also present on the back.
