A large and impressive Swedish Grace desk lamp designed by architect Melchior Wernstedt in 1922 for the renowned department store Nordiska Kompaniet. Produced in the 1920s, this fixture belongs to the transitional period between traditional and modern aesthetics, combining clean, functional lines with restrained ornamentation inherited from the pre-electrification era. The lamp is constructed with a circular wooden column rising from a round brass base, weighted internally with cast iron. It is fitted with two brass and porcelain lampholders concealed beneath a pleated textile shade. A decorative finial atop the shade gives the lamp a distinctive silhouette.
