The elegant Meridiana halogen desk lamp—shown here in the rare gold-colored brass version—is an iconic postmodern design object, created in 1983 by architect Paolo Piva for the Italian manufacturer Stefano Cevoli.
The Meridiana's design is purely geometric, structural, and functional. with its precise lines, it follows clear architectural principles: The lamp is based on a geometric triangular construction with a hemispherical base and head.
The mechanism is reminiscent of the precise movement of technical structures: The two ultra-thin, parallel metal arms can be swiveled 180 degrees.
The semi-circular shade is flexibly adjustable for focused light.
Due to this flexibility, the dimensions change with daily use: Width approximately 12 cm (base diameter) to 58 cm. This piece has an attribution mark,
