Rare Authentic Art Deco Miniature Desk Sculpture.
Featuring Otto Messmer’s Iconic "Felix the Cat".
Masterfully Designed Matchstick Holder with Integrated Match Striker.
Designed by Karl Hagenauer for the World-Renowned Werkstätte Hagenauer Wien (WHW). Produced in Vienna, Austria.
Cast in Solid Brass/Bronze and Heavily Finished with the Studio's Signature Period Nickel-plating
The Underside is Fully Marked and Stamped with: Circular Werkstätte Hagenauer monogram logo ("wHw") Produced and MADE IN AUSTRIA in block text.
Excellent antique condition consistent with age and gentle use over nearly a century. The nickel finish retains a beautiful, warm vintage luster with minor surface wear, soft patina, and micro-scratching appropriate to a genuine period object. No structural damage, fractures, or alterations. Completely original condition; has not been aggressively polished or chemically stripped to protect the historical value.
