Painted in oil on linen with obsessive, trained observation: every root and frond rendered by a hand that could truly draw, with a sculptural, almost stylized quality to the rock. Signed and dated lower left, "A. Juárez / 30/7/52"; a handwritten verso note ties it to the Bosque de Chapultepec. The distressed, chipped-gesso period frame is original and full of character — untouched since 1952.

A sophisticated, room-anchoring landscape. Unattributed, but unmistakably the work of a serious painter. Offered unrestored, exactly as it came from a Marin County, California estate. One of a kind.

Framed dimensions: 26.5"H x 32.5"W x 2"D (canvas 19.5 x 25.25"). Condition: good and unrestored — age craquelure throughout, verso foxing/age-staining, and a distressed period frame with chipped gesso. See less
