This large-format work depicts an atmospheric social scene at night and is based on the well-known painting "Summer Night on the Rhine" by Christian Eduard Boettcher. The original was created in 1862 and is considered one of the representative works of Rhine Romanticism and the Düsseldorf School of Painting. It is part of the public museum collection in Cologne.
