Materials: leather, mirror, okoumé wood, and polyurethane foam. Punk is a monumental wall mirror whose sculptural frame draws inspiration from the iconic collars of early punk culture. The circular form is enveloped in natural leather, lending unexpected softness to an otherwise assertive silhouette and creating a tension between refinement and provocation. Encircling the mirror, twelve black-chrome spikes radiate outward, transforming the piece into a powerful architectural presence. The interplay between material warmth and metallic sharpness reinforces its dual identity — at once tactile and confrontational. Both reflective surface and sculptural object, punk challenges conventional notions of the mirror as a purely functional element. Its presence alters spatial perception, asserting itself as a focal structure rather than a passive surface. Conceived as a contemporary collectible, the piece pays homage to punk’s radical spirit while affirming garattoni’s commitment to craftsmanship, material exploration, and bold aesthetic expression. In doing so, punk transcends stylistic reference, positioning itself as a statement work within contemporary design discourse. See less
