The title says it best. It is simply sheer perfection. Mother Nature's Masterpiece--two roses in full bloom nestled against contrasting greens and blacks.
Rendered very much in the manner of John Singer Sargent, George merges the Classical with Impressionist techniques, emphasizing fluid brushwork and visible strokes, vibrant color, and the unique character of the bloom.
One of George's most dramatic works in the Small Studio Series, it measures 12" x 15" when including the ornate rococo-styled frame (9" x 12" unframed.)
