Finished in a dark, mottled bronze patina, the piece depicts two dancing figures reduced to essential curved planes and spherical heads, rendered with a fluid, gestural quality.

Authenticity is confirmed by the artist's signature, date, and edition number inscribed on the underside of the base, reading "R. Holmes," "1988," and "2/12" alongside additional artist's markings (see detail photos). This piece has been independently confirmed as an authentic Robert Holmes work by Robert Holmes Sculptures, the gallery representing the artist's works.

Provenance: Curated from the private collection of artist Eve Paige Spencer, whose work is held in the permanent collection of the Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery at Scripps College, California, and her husband, writer and art collector Donner Spencer. The piece has remained in the family for decades.
