Artistry & Design While traditional Akua'ba figures feature standard flat, disc-shaped heads atop stylized columnar bodies, this exceptional carving represents a much rarer and highly sought-after narrative variation. It depicts a nursing mother seated upon a classic Akan stool, gently cradling her child.

The figure exhibits the traditional hallmarks of Ashanti beauty and health, including a perfectly rounded, oversized forehead, finely etched facial features, and a ringed neck. The sculpture is entirely hand-carved from a single piece of dense hardwood, boasting a beautiful, deep espresso/black patina with subtle, warm wood tones peeking through the edges.
