A phenomenal, museum-quality masterpiece of American Western photography, "Chinks, Oxbow, and Jinglebobs" is one of the most iconic images captured by legendary Montana photographer Barbara Van Cleve.
Shot on the ranch in 1984, this striking, high-contrast composition provides an intimate, textured look at a cowboy's riding gear, beautifully framing the fringed leather chinks, a traditional wooden oxbow stirrup, and classic jingling rowel spurs.
This rare example is an authentic vintage Gelatin Silver Print hand-processed and printed by the artist in 1991 from the original 1984 negative. Hand-signed and titled by Van Cleve in pencil along the bottom margin, this print is number 32 in the limited edition series and features its original registration label from the premier Andrew Smith Gallery on the protective backing.
An exceptional fine art acquisition, this striking piece brings timeless, rugged sophistication to any luxury ranch estate, Southwestern home, or contemporary gallery wall.

The photographic paper remains exceptionally bright, displaying deep, velvety blacks and crisp silver-toned contrast. The image area is completely free of surface scratches, handling dimples, tears, foxing, chemical yellowing, or creases. Mounting & Framing: The original gallery frame recently suffered a mechanical break and was discarded; however, the print itself was entirely unimpacted and remains protected. The print has gently lifted from its backing board in one localized, smooth spot along the edge due to natural age-related adhesive relaxation. It has not creased or detached completely, and will lay perfectly flat and flawless once placed under a standard custom framing mat. Provenance: Fully hand-signed and titled by the artist in pencil along the lower border margin. Retains its original gallery registration sticker and inventory labels on the backing board. less
