the scissor or harmonica wall lamp is a functionalist design that emerged from the workshops and offices of mid-century europe, built so the light could be pulled out over a desk or bench and folded back flat against the wall when not needed.

this example, made by the dutch manufacturer adem, follows that principle. The scissor arm extends and retracts across a wide range, and the shade adjusts to direct the light where it is wanted.
the lamp is finished in black with a white interior to the shade and carries a weathered patina consistent with its age. It has been rewired for safe contemporary use, fitted with a new e27 socket and a switch on the cord, and fully checked. It mounts to the wall and is ready to install.

this is a single, original vintage piece. The signs of wear are consistent with its working history and confirm its authenticity.
