cabaret artist, comedian, photographer, artist.

early stage performances in a theater group while still in school.

1981-85 studied to become a teacher (history & art) at the university of essen (now: university of duisburg-essen). His painting teacher was lászló lakner.

worked as a cabaret artist.

1988 first state examination
from 1994, successful with his first solo cabaret program.

from 1995, photography became his primary artistic focus, replacing painting.

tv appearances began in 2000, and in 2011 he hosted his own show, “nuhr im ersten.”


nuhr appeared on television in 2000 and has his own show on ard (the first german television channel) since 2011.
