A four-arm articulated machinist lamp by e.d.l. Of staffordshire, england, in original green enamel, usable as a table lamp or wall light. An original vintage piece.
e.d.l. Was founded in 1922 in staffordshire and built its reputation on precisely engineered task and machinist lighting for the workshops and engineering halls of industrial england. Its lamps were made to hold position under constant handling and heavy use, and many have outlasted the machinery and buildings they were installed to light.
this four-arm model is among the less common configurations, giving a longer reach and a wider range of positions than the more frequently found two and three-arm versions.
the lamp articulates at every arm, and both the arms and the shade rotate, so the light can be directed precisely over a desk, bench or work surface. It retains its original green enamel finish with a white interior to the shade, carrying a weathered patina and its original maker's labels, which remain visible. The lamp has been deep cleaned, fully rewired with a new e27 fitting and checked. It can stand on a desk or table or be wall mounted with four fixings. There is no switch.
this is a single, original vintage piece. The signs of wear are consistent with its working history and confirm its authenticity.
