Vintage sommerso glass ashtray/empty pocket with a stand, typical of Murano artistic glassmaking in the 1950s and 1960s. This style is renowned for its juxtaposition of chromatically distinct layers of glass, a combination of plum/fuchsia and deep blue hues encased within a thick, solid outer layer of clear glass. Pieces with this specific geometric shape and pedestal base are often attributed to prominent Venetian designers and glassworks of the period, including creations attributed to Flavio Poli for Seguso Vetri d'Arte or Archimede Seguso.
