A vibrant Beni M'rirt rug from the Middle Atlas Mountains of Morocco, handknotted in thick wool by Berber artisans. The design unfolds as an interlocking maze of rectilinear forms — deep cobalt blue set against a bold mustard yellow — evoking the graphic language of mid-century modernist art as much as traditional Amazigh weaving.
This is architecture rendered in wool: sharp right angles, stepped corridors, and a rhythm of positive and negative space that gives the rug a strong sculptural presence on the floor. The plush, dense pile and hand-twisted fringes are characteristic of authentic Beni M'rirt craftsmanship, while the striking colour contrast makes this piece a genuine statement rug rather than a background element.
At 200 x 300 cm, it holds its own in a living room, dining space, or open-plan interior, working equally well against neutral walls or alongside other bold colour and pattern.
As with all Beni M'rirt rugs, each piece is woven freehand without a template — this exact composition is unrepeatable.
