True to Dieter Rams’ “Less, but better” philosophy, this chair combines minimalist architecture, innovative design, and exceptional comfort. We are offering here a swivel version, which is rarer than the model mounted on casters. Its swivel base provides great freedom of movement while preserving the clean lines envisioned by Dieter Rams. The satin-black lacquered fiberglass frame consists of three elements assembled around a separate seat cushion, creating a light and perfectly balanced silhouette. Both the armchair and its ottoman are in their original condition. The original Vitsoe upholstery is made of full-grain black leather. It has developed a beautiful patina. More than sixty years after its creation, it remains an essential benchmark in modernist furniture. Dieter Rams, a leading figure in industrial design, is world-renowned for his work at Braun. For Vitsoe, Dieter Rams developed several furniture systems that have become classics of contemporary design: the 606 modular shelving system, the 620 seating program, and various sofas and armchairs.
