A wonderful Brutalist fountain with handles, designed by David Marshall. Made of brass and aluminum, gilded and silvered, it becomes a practical design object for everyday use. The rough surface finish, characteristic of the style, invites touch.

For the sculptor, his works must be effective and functional, as well as satisfy a basic sensual and sculptural concept: the need to feel, to touch, to caress. Drawn to natural phenomena, many of his designs are inspired by geological formations, ice patterns, fossils, and weathering—nature's random forms where straight lines are absent. He uses the casting process to attempt to replicate these phenomena.

David Marshall, originally from Scotland, moved to Spain in the 1960s, attracted by the climate, the light, and the magnificent landscapes. He settled in southern Spain and began his artistic career. Inspired by the mountainous environment and nature, he opened a workshop in Málaga in 1969, where he developed a thriving design business working with institutional and private clients worldwide.
