Nell uses techniques not dissimilar to sgraffito and intaglio, normally used with clay, to carve and incise onto her favoured material Valchromat.
She replaces the CNC router used in her Loop and Arch collections with a hand held carving tool.

Her imaginary tree scape is hand drawn over the doors and sides to create a view that takes the viewers eye to the distant skyline. The sections are then carved and painted or vice versa, painted and then carved.

Each piece in the Wonderland Collection is entirely made by hand, making each piece one of a kind.

Valchromat, a composite material made primarily of waste wood comes in several colours, allowing Nell to play with almost limitless colour and design possibilities.
