Mid-century modern abstract landscape by regional California artist Joan Born perfectly captures the moody, organic texture of post-war West Coast abstraction. Titled "Land Masses #2," this original work is masterfully executed in rich India ink on heavily textured paper, balancing deep charcoal blacks, gradient grays, and warm neutral undertones. Born was an active mid-20th-century artist exhibiting throughout the Sacramento region, and this piece carries exceptional provenance. The reverse features her original handwritten gallery label intact, complete with her historical Sacramento studio address, media notes, and title.
