Exquisite 1948 Drexel “Travis Court” Federal Revival Sideboard & China Cabinet. Crafted during Drexel’s golden era, this set showcases Hepplewhite serpentine fronts, Sheraton legs, and rich post‑war mahogany. Sideboard (Model 407) and China Cabinet (Model 203) retain their original brass hardware, dovetailed joinery, and elegant neoclassical proportions. A rare, museum‑worthy matched pair from Drexel’s premier traditional line. Build quality is exceptional. Perfect for refined interiors, collectors, or period‑correct projects.
Set was crafted May 24, 1948 and May 6, 1948 respectively and in excellent condition.
The sideboard features curved front drawers and rich mahogany surfaces. The china cabinet includes curved drawer fronts, brass hardware, glass display doors, lower storage compartments and rich mahogany surfaces, all retaining their original integrity. Both pieces are structurally excellent, with tight joinery, smooth drawer action, intact glass, and age‑appropriate wear consistent with 75 years of careful use.
Both pieces retain their original 1948 Drexel factory stenciling, including model numbers (“NO. 241 BUFF” and “NO. 203 CHINA”), finish codes, and production dates (“5/24/48” and “5/6/48”). These markings are consistent with Drexel’s Travis Court Federal Revival line and serve as reliable manufacturer identifiers used by collectors and appraisers when paper labels are no longer present.
Please excuse the messy floors, etc. in the photos, as I'm having work done in the house and packing to move.
