This design by Danish architect Christian Hvidt for the long-established manufacturer Nordisk Solar Compagni embodies a clear, structured design language, originally conceived for both prestigious public buildings and sophisticated private interiors. The eponymous, trapezoidal silhouette is finished in a restrained, timeless white on the exterior. However, the lamp's unique visual impact stems from a clever detail on the interior: the spaces between the louvers are partially painted orange on the inside. When switched on, the light refracts and reflects off these colored surfaces. The result is an exceptionally warm, golden glow that creates a cozy atmosphere, while the direct downward light remains clear and pure. To harmoniously complement the warm color scheme of the interior finish, the pendant lamp is fitted with a matching red textile cable. This color complement creates a link to the carefree design of the 1970s, making the object a harmonious whole. A superbly preserved piece of Danish lighting design that combines cool Scandinavian lines with a cozy lighting effect.
