This antique sideboard dates back to around 1920 and combines the decorative elements of late Art Nouveau with the cleaner … Read more This antique sideboard dates back to around 1920 and combines the decorative elements of late Art Nouveau with the cleaner lines of early Art Deco. with its balanced proportions, two-part construction, and high-quality craftsmanship, it was originally the centerpiece of a dining room or kitchen.

The sideboard has been completely restored in our workshop. All surfaces were carefully cleaned, sanded, and then refinished in the Mushroom color. Finally, the body received a protective wax sealant, giving the surface a pleasantly matte finish. The solid wood top was intentionally left in its natural wood grain, creating a harmonious contrast to the light-colored body. The interior is finished in a deep petrol blue, adding an elegant touch when the doors are opened.

The front is characterized by two glazed display compartments, decorative fruit basket reliefs, and original hardware. The open central section is ideal for a coffee machine, decorative items, or books. Below are a spacious drawer and additional closed storage compartments.

Despite its generous width, the sideboard has a pleasingly light appearance. The upper section is only 35 cm deep, making the piece appear less bulky and suitable for smaller rooms. At the same time, the lower section, with a depth of 63 cm, offers ample storage space for dishes, glasses, provisions, or linens.

Thanks to its timeless color scheme, the cabinet can be combined with both period furnishings and modern interior design concepts. It is ideal for dining rooms, kitchens, living rooms, boutique hotels, vacation apartments, or stylish commercial spaces.

Restoration

The cabinet has been completely refurbished. The surfaces were cleaned, sanded, repainted in the color Mushroom, and then waxed. The worktop retained its natural wood grain. The interior was redesigned and finished in Petrol. See less
