Raymond's celebrated publication *L'Art Islamique en Orient – IIe Partie*, illustrating an ancient wooden ceiling (plafond antique) from Yenişehir in northwestern Anatolia, dated to approximately 1340. The composition presents a measured study of an early Anatolian coffered ceiling rendered at a scale of 1:10. The design combines a broad border of small square coffers with a central field of repeating elongated diamond motifs, demonstrating the refined geometric principles inherited from Seljuk art and carried into the formative period of Ottoman architecture.
