Pair of gilt bronze sphinx candelabra, early 19th century
France, Restoration period, circa 1830
Patinated and gilt bronze, finely chased
Three-light candelabra resting on a Siena yellow marble base.
The arms are stylized branches in the form of scrolls surmounted by floral motifs.
The bases are adorned with rows of pearls and rest on chased and gilt bronze toupees in the Louis XVI style.
