The collection comprises particularly fine, detailed and varied scenes, including ceremonies and festivities, travel by carriage and palanquin, trades and occupations.Indian Company paintings on mica are rare; it is estimated that as of now, there are only around 7,000 mica paintings available in the world. The mica is loosely mounted to the album backing paper with corner slits rather than adhesive, so it can be completely removed.Inscribed below in English giving the title: 'Government Messenger'.
