This Symfon lamp series is an absolute design rarity of Scandinavian Mid-Century Modernism. This ingenious classic was designed in the 1960s by Preben Dal for the Danish manufacturer Hans Følsgaard. Among collectors worldwide, the model is also known as the Diamond Lamp. We have recently restored the lamp and completely overhauled its mechanics. About the origins of the Symfon series: Preben Dal designed the Symfon series in the early 1960s with the vision of creating a lamp that would transform the mathematical precision of geometric forms into a vibrant interplay of light and shadow. Inspired by the principles of Op Art and structural architecture, the series is based on the modular interplay of metal plates. This particular version is especially rare and captivates with its vertical dynamism: The precisely aligned diamonds form a striking basic shape that, in its entirety and with its spectacular shadows, is reminiscent of a geometric pine cone. The design and lighting effect: The entire piece is crafted from artfully folded metal, giving the lamp the visual lightness and delicate aesthetic of origami while maintaining the robust stability of metal. The shades are painted entirely white. As soon as the lamp is switched on, its architectural masterpiece is revealed: The light refracts on the angled facets, casting a complex and highly elegant pattern of light and shadow into the room. Despite its compact dimensions, the lamp has a sculptural and striking presence. A spectacular, modern accent is added to this white collector's item by the newly installed royal blue textile cable. This bold contrast gives the Danish classic a fantastic contemporary look. Because your individual preferences are important to us, the cable can easily be customized to your needs upon request (e.g., in length or color). An exclusive, museum-quality work of Danish lighting design for your home.
