These urns were only produced during a very short window in the mid 1990s in cast iron which make them exceedingly rare. So rare, in fact, that pairs often list for well over $6000, when they can be found. Unfortunately, they’re also usually described as antique or French, especially when they display expected wear and patina, which likely hikes up the prices. They are neither.

Haddo House Urns (AKA Aberdeen Urns) are still manufactured in cast stone by another company in license with the National Trust of Scotland. These cast iron versions, however, are like unicorns.

This particular urn was retrieved from a renowned garden center in one of New Jersey’s most affluent towns. They’ve been around since the 1980s and acquired this urn as new stock. It’s been sitting in their warehouse for nearly 30 years virtually untouched by time. And it’s their last one. See less
