Miguel Tusquellas Corbella (1884 Barcelona – 1969 Élincourt-Sainte-Marguerite, France) was a friend of Juan Gris and shared his views on the perception of reality as the basis of painting, without submitting to the geometric discipline of Cubism. He worked in fresco and oil techniques, primarily creating figure paintings and still lifes. He spent his last years in France, where this small oil painting may also have been created.
