This vintage mid-century wardrobe was made in słupsk in poland in the 1950s. As a result of a collaboration with polish street artist tuse, one of the most recognizable graffiti artists in gdańsk, the original front has been painted by him using a variety of spray cans. The same way he paints buildings.
overall size is h: 176 / w: 179 / d: 58 cm.
originally manufactured by the słupsk furniture factory, in the communist times, the wardrobe is crafted in elm veneer, a material typical of post-war polish furniture design. The inscription in the lower corner, "tuse chowam", is a playful reference to the artist's nickname. In polish, "tu se chowam" means "i store here" (stuff), creating a clever pun that perfectly suits the function of the wardrobe while incorporating the artist's signature.
blending mid-century craftsmanship with contemporary urban art, this one-of-a-kind wardrobe is both a functional storage piece and a unique collectible. It makes a bold statement in modern interiors, especially lofts, while celebrating the dialogue between vintage design and contemporary street art.
