"Imperfect" and Unique Craftsmanship: Unlike mass-produced products, the Goto lampshade celebrates irregularity. The shape is often organic, with glass drippings, murrine inclusions, or colored granules that appear randomly distributed, just like the glasses made "on the fly" by master glassmakers (the Venetian term "Goto" refers to the glass that master glassmakers quickly created for drinking during their laborious work in the furnace, using the remains of molten glass).
