A rare and elegant set of four French altar candle holders, handcrafted from solid oak around the 1940s.
Their clean geometric silhouette and warm aged oak give these pieces a strong sculptural presence. Originally designed for liturgical use, they now work beautifully as decorative objects in Brutalist, Rustic, Wabi-Sabi or Minimalist interiors.
Each candle holder is fitted with a heavy removable turned metal spike (probably brass), which screws securely into the wooden body. The quality of the construction and the beautiful natural patina reflect traditional French craftsmanship.
