The “Swanhild” wardrobe combines the understated elegance of a historic farmhouse wardrobe with a subtle reinterpretation in the shabby chic style. Crafted around 1920 from solid pine, it tells the story of a piece of furniture that has been used for generations and now lives on with renewed charm.

Its gently curved crown, clean-lined panel doors, and two generously sized drawers reflect the functional design language of early 20th-century rural furniture. Characteristic features include balanced proportions and solid craftsmanship, making this wardrobe a long-lasting companion to this day.

“Swanhild” was meticulously restored at the Sinteins workshop. The surface was cleaned, sanded, and then hand-painted with high-quality chalk paint in a warm ivory tone. Through careful sanding, subtle signs of wear remained visible, giving the piece its authentic patina. Finally, the surface was sealed with homemade beeswax, resulting in a pleasantly matte finish and natural protection.

A special feature is the hand-painted folklore ornamentation in delicate shades of red. Inspired by traditional cross-stitch patterns and Slavic symbols, it adorns the doors, drawers, and curved gable. This lends the wardrobe a serene, poetic air without obscuring its original character.

The interior was intentionally preserved almost entirely in its original state. The warm pine wood was simply cleaned and treated to maintain its natural grain. A sturdy clothes rail and a hat shelf offer ample storage space for clothing, textiles, or home accessories. Thanks to its traditional construction, the wardrobe can be disassembled for transport and relocation.

with its light color scheme, "Swanhild" harmonizes beautifully with shabby chic, French country, cottage style, Scandinavian rustic, farmhouse, boho, or modern, minimalist interiors. It is equally suitable as a wardrobe in the bedroom, a linen closet in the guest room, or as a distinctive storage unit in vacation homes, boutiques, or stylish hotels.

Instead of replacing valuable materials with new production, the existing substance is preserved and carefully refined using traditional techniques.
