Alinde is a restored vintage wooden wardrobe that blends historical craftsmanship with contemporary design. Its simple, functional form is complemented by a glass mosaic designed and hand-laid by the artist elena efa, creating a unique piece of furniture that straddles the line between design object and functional sculpture.
the wardrobe was completely cleaned, structurally reworked, and redesigned. The original back panel was replaced due to its condition. The piece was then finished with a multi-layered coat of high-quality chalk paint in a warm ivory tone. Finally, the surface was sealed with hand-applied beeswax, resulting in a matte, natural finish.
the distinctive feature is the two mosaic panels in the doors. Hundreds of individually placed glass tiles form a serene geometric pattern in shades of blue, turquoise, silver, and natural tones. The mosaic was designed exclusively for this piece by elena efa and crafted entirely by hand. It transforms the wardrobe's character without compromising its original simplicity.
the interior was intentionally left in its natural state. The warm wood contrasts beautifully with the light exterior. Two clothes rails and shelves offer practical storage for clothing, textiles, or household items.
alindie is not a mass-produced design object, but a unique piece. The combination of restored vintage furniture and contemporary mosaic art makes it appealing both as a functional wardrobe and as a collector's item. It is equally suitable for private residences, boutique hotels, galleries, or exceptional interior design projects.
