In these works, color is the first attraction. Used saturated monochrome surfaces to capture the gaze and force it to pause. But it is a threshold that conceals a deception: the word written in cement contradicts what the eye sees, generating a perceptual shift.
The word written in cement emerges or is imprinted on the canvas, raw and heavy. This is where the perceptual shift occurs. The cement suggests a color or a concept that contradicts what the eye is actually seeing. Is the color we are observing really the right one, or is the writing telling us the truth?
A necessary disorientation to stop looking and finally begin to ask the right questions. Signed by Maker
