The model appeared in the manufacturer's range in the 1950s and was produced throughout the following decade, becoming a symbol of the British approach to design – simple, functional, and timeless.

The structure is made of a combination of elm and beech wood. The wide, solid elm backrest beautifully showcases the natural grain of the wood, while the distinctive bent elements and slender beech spindles are the result of Ercol's own wood-bending technology. This combination of both species has become one of the brand's hallmarks.

The sofa is in very good original condition, with minimal signs of use in the form of light scratches and scuffs.

The sofa's form perfectly fits the mid-century modern style.
