A beautifully restored set of six vintage “Eva” chairs in Brazilian rosewood by Niels Koefoed, produced in Denmark in c 1960s by Koefoeds Hornslet. Koefoed is known to have named his chairs after his children. Eva, released in 1964, is the most iconic among his designs.
Eva’s frame is a sculptural silhouette – stiletto tapered legs, a gently curved backrest, and a trio of tapered vertical slats that are widest where lumbar support is needed. They are shockingly light yet consistently durable.
The chairs are just tall enough to impart a sense of formality without the imposing scale of a traditional high-back design, maintaining a profile suitable for everyday use.
This set has been refinished and reupholstered in a rich beige leather from Edelman’s Royal Hide collection. They are comfortable, sturdy, and, of course, breathtakingly beautiful, ready for their next generation of use.
