Introduce classic English heritage to your space with this original first edition hand-colored aquatint engraving published in 1823. Titled Shooting Plate III: Dogs Brought Game and Reloading, this historical piece was originally painted by celebrated British sporting artist Dean Wolstenholme the Elder (1757–1837). It was masterfully engraved by Thomas Sutherland and published in London by R. Ackermann in May 1823.
The narrative scene captures two traditional hunters in period attire alongside their retrieving pointers within a softly rolling British landscape. The artwork features fine hand-painted detailing and includes original lower-margin text credits to the painter, engraver, and publisher.
