Up for sale is a stunning, 100% authentic handmade ceramic checker set crafted by the renowned Brazilian folk artist Vitalino Pereira dos Santos Neto (Vitalino Neto) from Caruaru, Pernambuco.
Vitalino Neto is the grandson of the legendary Mestre Vitalino, the most famous figure in Brazilian clay sculpture history. This complete set carries on that deep family lineage, hand-sculpted in the famous Alto do Moura region-recognized by UNESCO as the largest center of figurative art in the Americas.
• Origin: Caruaru, Pernambuco, Brazil (Alto do Moura)
• Medium: Hand-molded, kiln-fired regional clay (Cerâmica Figurativa)
• The Pieces: Features 24 highly detailed, hand-painted figures. One side represents regional Nordestino characters in traditional hats, and the opposing side features iconic dotted animals.
• Condition: Excellent vintage condition. All pieces are complete with vibrant paint. (Note: Please review all photos closely, as andmade clay items feature natural, unique variations and textures). There is one mark on the Board which could be touched up if desired
