This white louvered lamp from Jeka is a Danish mid-century classic that surprises with a truly special design detail. Jeka is one of the most renowned names in Danish lighting design. The architectural design is built in the unmistakable Scandinavian style: The upper louvered shades are all made of typical Danish white lacquered metal. They diffuse the light softly and without glare to the sides. The ingenious twist lies in the detail: The bottom shade is not made of metal, but of white marbled glass. This interplay of materials creates a fascinating transformation effect: When switched off, the lamp appears completely uniformly white and unobtrusive – a clean, minimalist sculpture on your ceiling. However, as soon as you switch the light on, the bottom glass shade develops a beautiful transparency, and the fine, marbled structure is revealed to stunning effect.
