The column is wrapped collar to foot in molded relief: green horseshoe arches, ochre running scrolls, rows of upright double-axe figures, leaf-and-dot ovals, and a base register of triangles, each divided by fine beaded lines. Bay Keramik, founded in 1933 in the Kannenbäckerland clay region, built its reputation through the 1960s and '70s on exactly this kind of boldly molded, saturated-glaze work.

Amitābha Studio converted the vintage base into a one-of-a-kind lamp using non-invasive methods that leave the original pottery intact, then paired it with a new tall drum shade in a textured flax weave with soft gold trim. This piece has an attribution mark,
