Beautifully crafted from richly figured burr walnut, the magnificent oval top displays outstanding book-matched veneers with dramatic swirling grain and warm golden tones, making this an outstanding statement piece for both traditional and contemporary interiors.
The substantial top is raised on an elegant turned pedestal terminating in a bold carved quatreform base. Each of the four sweeping legs is beautifully hand carved with flowing acanthus leaf decoration and scroll feet, showcasing the quality of the cabinet maker's craftsmanship. The combination of the richly figured burr walnut and deeply carved base creates a table of remarkable presence and refinement.
Designed to tilt for storage when not in use, the table can be easily positioned upright against a wall, a highly practical Victorian feature that also allows the spectacular burr walnut top to be admired as a decorative focal point.
