Raymond's celebrated folio publication L'Art Islamique en Orient – IIe Partie, one of the most important early twentieth-century surveys of Islamic decorative arts and architecture in Anatolia. The plates illustrate geometric, interlaced, and architectural ornament recorded from medieval Seljuk monuments in and around Konya, Turkey. The four prints feature finely rendered studies of carved stone decoration, interlaced borders, geometric friezes, and ornamental architectural details from important Seljuk monuments including the Sultan Han, Syrtchali Medrese, Dar-el-Huffar (Aya Sophia) Mosque, and the Agzli-Kara Han. Executed with remarkable precision, these plates demonstrate the sophisticated geometry and mathematical harmony that characterize Islamic ornament of the 13th century. Raymond's publication was intended as a scholarly record of monuments that were already showing signs of deterioration. Today these plates serve both as valuable architectural documents and as highly decorative works of art. Their restrained palette of sage green, pale turquoise, cream, and soft stone-grey gives them a refined contemporary appearance while preserving their historical authenticity. Presented together, the four prints create a striking visual ensemble. The repeating geometric patterns relate beautifully to one another while each sheet remains distinctive. The set works particularly well in contemporary interiors, Mediterranean homes, Ottoman-inspired spaces, libraries, studies, boutique hotels, and luxury hospitality settings. The framed images shown are for inspiration only. The prints are sold unframed. Condition report: All four prints are original. General age toning, occasional light foxing, and minor handling wear consistent with age. Overall condition remains very good for decorative display. Please review images carefully. Framing tips: For a sophisticated gallery presentation, frame all four identically in dark walnut, ebonized, or lightly gilded frames with ivory museum mats. Display as a two-by-two arrangement with equal spacing between frames. The soft green and cream tones work exceptionally well against warm neutrals, natural stone, and wood interiors.
